Vivid Productions Makes A Splash

Vivid Productions is the 51st record label at the NativeDSD Music store. Formed by Kengo Nishimoto, a former recording engineer at the NHK broadcast network in Japan, Vivid’s goal is “to touch the listener with the heartbeat of our musicians beyond the sound and silence. We are working every day on enhancing our approach to delivering the musician’s mind and breath to listeners in a way that is as pure as possible.”

Vivid specializes in recording their artists in DXD and more recently DSD 256. The company’s focus on creating and releasing the highest quality recordings is paying dividends here at Native DSD. Even though Vivid has released only 4 DSD albums to date, two of them have been making regular appearances on our Top Selling DSD List, almost since the day they were released!

Koto Dairy #0001 – VVDHR003

Koto Dairy #001

Takagi Keiko’s album Koto Diary #001 debuted on the Top 20 Best Sellers List at NativeDSD Music one week after release. And it hasn’t missed a day in the Top 20 since. The album’s first appearance in the world was its release here at NativeDSD.

Keiko is a Japanese traditional instrument koto performer. All the songs on Koto Dairy #001 capture the landscape of Karuizaa, a resort area where she lives. While using traditional Japanese instruments, Keiko’s music blends Eastern stylings with Western influences.

Vivid invites our listeners to “Please enjoy the beautiful melody playing the sound of the koto with complicated and distinctive harmonics not found in Western instruments.”

Cristal Bossa Tokyo – VVDHR001

Cristal Bossa Tokyo

Vivid’s second hot seller is the album Cristal Bossa Tokyo featuring vocalist Yukiko Miyazaki accompanied by guitarist Robson Amaral. The album features 11 bossa nova classics performed by Miyazaki and Amaral including The Girl From Ipanema, Corcovado, A Felicade and One Note Samba. The works are composed by famed songwriters of this genre like Carlos Jobim, Caetano Veloso, Sergio Valle, De Moraes and Newton Mendonca.

Vivid tells us “Yukiko Miyazaki treats you to authentic Bossa Nova. With her music she takes you to the sea of Brazil and visualizes the atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro. The sound of her clear singing voice is luxuriously refreshing, in combination with the authentic guitar rhythms.”

If you haven’t heard these two fine DSD releases, be sure to give them a listen during your next visit to the NativeDSD Music store. You will be glad you did!
